Dear Friends,

October 19, 2024 was the 50th anniversary of that fateful day in 1974 when I married Dale Carter at Christ the King Cathedral here in Atlanta.
Like all marriages that endure, ours has been through uncountable highs and lows and everything in between. But it has all been a great adventure loaded with equally uncountable terrific memories. This slide show has a few of them.
I love Dale, and I admire Dale.
She is the ultimate care giver. During her career in anesthesia, they always brought the pediatric cases to her. She was the one who could comfort and calm frightened children. When we go to parties, she always notices the elderly person or child that is being ignored by everyone and spends her time with them.
She taught me the joy of giving. I’ve always had a normal amount of generosity, but she showed me the incredible results of doing for others.
As most of you know, she is a fellow Vietnam Veteran. She volunteered and became a AirVac Flight Nurse in the Air Force, flying the wounded from Da Nang and Cam Ranh to Japan or Germany and eventually home.
She is a convert to Catholicism and has the intensity and dedication of faith common to those who choose the Faith as an adult. She sets a standard in this area I struggle to match.
Finally, she is a great sport and is willing to try anything I dream up for us. She has never told me she didn’t want to go somewhere or try something new that I suggested.
Anyway, this is my tribute to her on our 50th Anniversary. Like all my albums, it has music, so turn the volume up on your computer.
