Every Child is a Different Kind of Flower
PBS and Georgia Public Broadcasting launched a new Kids Channel in 2017, so it was decided to create a gallery celebrating children.
“Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together, make this world a beautiful garden.”
This famous quotation is a wonderful encapsulation of the wonder of little humans that fascinate adults and touch our hearts in so many ways. The world celebrates children in so many ways, through holidays and rituals. Children are the greatest joy in life for parents and grandparents. Their innocence, curiosity, playfulness, and appreciation are reminders of the best qualities in humans.
My travels around the world have afforded me opportunities to meet and interact with children of many societies. Each is special and unique, but they all posses the same wonderful qualities. In many societies, children are given important tasks at an early age: guarding cattle from lions in Tanzania, helping with marketing the family produce in India, etc. But mostly these images reflect the great natural joy of children at play.
