How We Gather
Every day humans come together in the fabric of life. Whether it is to share work, friendship, worship, governing, hunting and gathering, or whatever, it is sharing the effort, joys and sorrows of community.
In my travels around the world, it has been an education for me to observe and document these human interactions. Because these individuals are often from societies radically different from mine, I am less likely to take these observations for granted. I notice the subtleties and deliberate actions. Since I don’t understand the language being used, I must focus on what the expressions and gestures reveal about what is taking place.
Over time, all these experiences have led me to become more of an amateur anthropologist, noting all the common elements in life of a wide variety of societies around the planet.
Humans are terribly interesting, marvelous in so many ways.
