Dance – Life in Motion

Throughout human history dance has been an integral part of societies, from small tribes to great nations.  It is an expression of culture and its myths and values, a creative art form that adapts and reinvents itself over time.  Dance creates emotion in both performers and audiences, varying from sublimity to reverence to excitement.  And it is often performed in traditional costumes that are fabulous artistic creations in themselves.

The usual result of dance is joy. For participants, such as social dancers, it is a part of the fabric of romance, friendship, celebration in life. For performers, both amateur and professional, it is an artistic outlet requiring training and rehearsal, a source of pride and accomplishment when performed for audiences.
